Take in the most incredible views with the glass igloo and wooden cottage experience. Enjoy a night in a rustic log cabin, a 2-hour reindeer excursion and an authentic Sami culture trip, before staying in your own glass igloo. The warm, comfortable igloo provides you with the most spectacular views of the northern lights and breathtaking night sky without the Arctic chill.
Arriving in the glass igloo village – either by your own means or a pre-booked transfer – you will be welcomed to your authentic log chalet accommodation. Complete with a sauna, fireplace and small kitchen, the chalet is impressively constructed from large kelo pines, providing a suitably beautiful and rustic base for your experience. A hearty dinner will cap off your first day perfectly.
The second day begins with a delicious breakfast, followed by a 2-hour reindeer excursion.
Commencing your journey at Kakslauttanen, our guide will ensure you’re comfortably equipped with thermal outfits upon your arrival at the farm. Seize the opportunity to snap some pictures with the majestic reindeer before settling into your cozy sledge, tucked under the warmth of snug blankets, ready to delve into the serene wilderness.
The journey unfolds at a leisurely pace, allowing you to relax, breathe in the crisp Arctic air, and absorb the tranquil sounds of the remote wilderness. Following this tranquil reindeer-drawn sledge ride, you’re invited into a traditional “kota”, a reindeer herder’s shelter and home.
Bask in the authentic atmosphere as you savor coffee, brewed over an open fire, accompanied by a delightful Finnish treat. This immersive experience also includes an engaging discussion about the region’s captivating nature and cultural richness, providing you with a deeper understanding of this unique part of the world.
From here, you will be taken to your very own glass igloo. Admire the spectacular northern lights and get a captivating view of the twinkling starry sky as you lounge in the comfort of a warm, cosy igloo. Your igloo has everything you need for the night, with your own toilet and comfortable bed. There are also men’s and women’s showers and saunas in separate buildings.
Choose from four restaurants for dinner on the igloo site, which also houses the world’s largest smoke sauna.
After your unforgettable glass igloo experience, you can enjoy breakfast on the third day, before heading back – either by your own means, or on our transfers to Ivalo or Rovaniemi.
