Named in honour of King Charles III John, the street is steeped in royal connections and is home to Oslo’s Cathedral, Parliament and the National Theatre. Next, take in the neoclassical Royal Palace and the famous City Hall – where the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony takes place every year.

– Day 2 - Journey to Flåm
Kick start your second day with a sumptuous breakfast at the hotel, ready for your adventure on the Flåm Railway – one of Norway’s leading tourist attractions! This is truly one of the world’s most beautiful train journeys. Soak up breath-taking mountain scenery, stunning waterfalls and seemingly endless cultural landscapes. It’s not just beauty though – the Flåm Railway is one of the steepest standard-gauge railway lines in the world with 80% of the journey taking place at a 5,5% gradient. You’ll be in awe of its technical brilliance, as you glide through spiralling mountain tunnels.
After this unforgettable Norwegian fjord excursion, it’s time to explore Flåm – a small, almost mythical village in southwest Norway. It’s famous for its stunning and dramatic landscapes, and you’ll have plenty of time to see them all, with an expertly selected hotel right by the train station.

After taking in magical waterfalls and scenic landscapes, you’ll be met by a tour guide for the next chapter of your Norwegian fjords adventure.
You will be accompanied on a leisurely walk to your central Bergen hotel, before a captivating 3-hour walking tour in the afternoon. As the capital of Western Norway, many refer to the city as “the gate to the realm of the Norwegian fjords”.
Highlights of the private tour include medieval Hansa Bryggen (The German Wharf), the beautifully preserved Bergen fortress and the famous local fish market. Make your way through the unique narrow streets and take a stop at the city park where you’ll be surrounded by charming greenery.
Along the way you’ll ‘meet and greet’ the statues of famous faces from Norwegian culture – including world-famous composer Edvard Grieg, author Henrik Ibsen and philosopher Ludvig Holberg. There’s even an optional 3-hour tour by Tesla car to the Edvard Greig museum.
After the main tour, you’ll be taken on a spectacular funicular ride to the top of mount Fløien – one of seven striking mountains surrounding the city of Bergen.
