Situated in the remote Lappish town of Inari, the Hotel Kultahovi in Inari is much more than just a regular hotel – it is a destination and an experience in itself. Located in Inari on the banks of the River Juutuanjoki and just a stone’s throw from the river rapids, the hotel is comprised of the Traditional Hotel as well as the River Hotel. The Traditional Hotel was built in 1956 on foundations of a 1937 hotel that was destroyed during WWII. It was fully renovated in 2014; decor is inspired by Finnish history and design and the rooms are timeless in their style and aesthetic. Traditional Sami colours of yellow, green, red, and black feature throughout. This section of the hotel has twenty nine guest rooms, each comprising tiled bathroom, kettle, and television. Common areas include a cosy lounge with a fireplace and an internet library. The River Hotel is in the building adjacent to the Traditional Hotel, and each of the sixteen superior rooms has a direct view of the river’s rapids. Each features a patio or balcony, sauna, drying cupboard, television, and more. One is equipped for disabled guests.
Dining in the Hotel Kultahovi is offered in the Restaurant Aanaar, which was renovated in 2012, and where quality local dishes are created from locally sourced produce. The dining room offers magnificent views of the lower rapids, and during summer there is a live feed of an underwater camera. Additional dining is available in the Juutua Lounge and Bar. An extension to the dining room, it is set over two levels for the best views of the river. The Lounge plays host to musicians and cultural events, and there is a cosy fire in the winter months.
Finally, guests are invited to enjoy the original riverside log sauna and the cool-off terrace by the riverfront. The hotel aims to seamlessly combine Sami culture, Lappish traditions, and the natural beauty of the region. It is a truly magnificent place to visit and stay. Step into another world and another culture and visit Inari and the Hotel Kultahovi. Scandi Travel is delighted to have added this unique destination to our packages – so contact us today for a once in a lifetime Lappish experience like no other. [products ]
